प्राचीन काल में हमारे देश ने विश्व में जो गौरव प्राप्त किया था उसमें हमारे पूर्वजों का अथक प्रयास, साहस, शोर्य और बुद्ध्िमता का योगदान था। किसी भी देश की शासन व्यवस्था उसके सांस्कृतिक आर्थिक नैतिक व प्रशासनिक स्तर का निरधारण करती है। भारतीय संस्कृति और सभ्यता के विकास मे राजपूतों का अमिट योगदान रहा है। भारतवर्ष की पवित्र भूमि पर राजपूत क्षत्रियों के अनेक वंश, गोत्र, ऋषिगोत्र, शाखाऐं रही है जो भिन्न भिन्न स्थानो पर विभिन्न नामों से अपनी पहचान बनाऐ हुए है। इनमे बहुत सी व्यक्ति विशेष, राजवंश, स्थान, संगठन एवं ऋषि परम्परा के नाम से विख्यात हैं। रवा राजपूत उनमे से एक है। इसे ही कुछ इतिहासकारो ने रया, रवा, रावाद, राजन्य ,रैवा और राय आदि नामों से सम्बोधित किया है।
इनमे प्रमुख विद्वान डा.गणेशी लाल वर्मा, सब्जी मंडी, दिल्ली, डा. रामसिहं रावत, नरायणा, दिल्ली, नेमपाल सिहं वर्मा मौजपुर दिल्ली, श्री हरगोविदं सिहं व बलबीर सिहं वीर, बरमपुर बिजनौर, डा. हमेन्द्र कुमार राजपूत, वशुन्धरा गाजियाबाद आदि हैं। अधिकांश विद्वानो का मत है कि रवा शब्द दुसरे शब्दों का अपभ्रशं या शाब्दिक संधि से उत्पन्न शब्द है। परन्तू गोविन्द सिहं ने रवा शब्द को मौलिक रूप मे स्वीकार किया है और स्वदेश चर्चा पत्रिका के सम्पादक आनन्द प्रकाश आर्य वैद्व ने भी अपने लेखों में इसका प्रयोग किया है। मैंने लगभग सभी विद्वानों के लेखों, पुस्तकों एवं इतिहास पुराण, शब्दकोश तथा महाभारत जैसे शास्त्रीय ग्रन्थों का अध्ययन किया है मेरी और इतिहास की ऐसी मान्यता है कि कोई भी शब्
